Skagit Valley Wings Lime Run

On Sunday, April 26th, 2009, after months of planning and preparation, the Skagit Valley Wings held their annual fundraiser benefitting the ‘Make a Wish’ foundation. Hundreds of riders turned out for this years ‘Lime Run,’ arriving early in anticipation of breakfast (served cheerfully by the Burlington Eagles) and of a full day of riding under sunny, blue skies.



Ridgefield WA - Mountain Jam Show

The 3rd annual Mountain Jam Motorcycle show was held on Saturday, April 18, 2009 at the Clark County Events Center in Ridgefield Washington. This year’s event was organized by the Southwest Chapter of ABATE of Washington.



Belfair WA - Sparkplug Enduro

The Tahuya State Forest crackled with the sound of nearly 200 engines during the 52nd running of the ‘Sparkplug Enduro,’ sponsored and organized by the Bremerton Cruisers Motorcycle Club. For over half a century, club members, their spouses and their children have volunteered hundreds of hours each year preparing for this annual event.



Castle Rock WA - Spirit Lake Highway

The road, as it exists today, was reopened in 1992 following 12 years of reconstruction after the 1980 eruption of Mount Saint Helens. At the time of the blast, the old highway was destroyed near the volcano and washed away throughout the river valley below.



Sultan WA-Stossel Creek North

Weeks ago I began exploring the Stossel Creek area between Duvall and Sultan WA, where several forest roads have been restricted from use over the last couple of years. In this, the concluding chapter, the north gate is located and some of the reasons behind the original closure are discovered.
