HJC Balaclava
By The Northwest Rider • Feb 23rd, 2009 • Category: Clothing
Icy wind against the skin of your chin and neck is uncomfortable and distracting when you ride during the late fall, winter and early spring. The HJC balaclava forms an insulating layer that blocks the wind and keeps this tender area surprisingly warm during the coldest rides, even at highway speeds.
HJC claims that the material used to make this product wicks moisture away eight times faster than conventional materials. It is unlikely though that you will wear this balaclava on any but the coldest riding days, where sweating is uncommon.
Helpful hint - wearing the balaclava with the stitched seams facing outward, away from the skin of your face, will be more comfortable and prevent them from pressing lines into your forehead, cheeks and chin.
