Toutle Diner

If you’re serious about motorcycling then chances are you have either driven, or will eventually drive, through the small town of Toutle, Washington. Toutle is located on the Spirit Lake Highway enroute to the Johnson Ridge Observatory near Mount St. Helens.  The next time you make this trip, plan a meal stop at the Toutle Diner, where you’ll find a clean interior, friendly service and a wide selection of ‘diner style’ food on the menu.

This family owned and operated roadside stop, which also houses an indoor espresso stand, has been in business for 24 years.  Burgers and shakes (30 different flavors) are among their ‘family favorites,’ complimented by a nightly dinner special ranging from Homemade Chili to New York Steak with Prawns.  Ask for the ‘Burger Dip’ if you’re undecided.  A ground beef patty is grilled between two thin slices of sourdough bread and accompanied by a large portion of french fries and a cup of steaming AuJus.  You will be as pleased with the quality of the food and service as you are with the check on the way out, as the Toutle Diner is very reasonably priced.

The Toutle Diner has a small town feel.  Folks come here to catch up on the news, watch sports on the wall-mounted flat screen and to meet up with friends and family.  New arrivals appeared to know everyone in the place, in front of as well as behind the counter. Even as an outsider though, I felt very welcome and comfortable.  The Toutle Diner is located at 5037 Spirit Lake Highway, Toutle WA 98649.  For more information about the Toutle Diner, call toll free (888) 311-0819 or email info@toutlediner.com.
